Karnataka Launches Centralised 108 Health Command and Control Centre

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the “108 Arogya Kavacha Centralised Command and Control Centre” organised by the Department of Health and Family Welfare. The new system aims to strengthen emergency healthcare response across Karnataka with advanced ambulance services and faster medical assistance during critical situations.

• Karnataka has launched a centralised 108 emergency healthcare command and control system.

• Advanced ambulance services are now available across all districts in the state from May 25.

• The initiative is operated under the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

• Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that timely emergency treatment during the “golden hour” can significantly improve survival rates.

• According to the Chief Minister, nearly 80% of patients receiving treatment during the golden hour have survived.

• Bengaluru currently operates around 65–70 ambulances for emergency healthcare services.

• The state government has created a dedicated management system for 108 ambulance services as announced in the 2025–26 Budget.

• The Chief Minister said government hospitals must become the preferred choice for quality healthcare treatment.

• The event was attended by Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, MLA and former minister Suresh Kumar, Priya Krishna, and other dignitaries.
