Bengaluru, 3 August 2026 — The All India Congress Committee has approved a major expansion of the Karnataka cabinet. In a letter dated 3 August 2026 addressed to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal conveyed that the Hon'ble Congress President has cleared the induction of twenty new ministers, together with appointments to the presiding offices of both Houses of the State Legislature.

The swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet members is scheduled for 4:05 PM on Monday, 3 August 2026, at the Loka Bhavana premises (ನೂತನ ಸಂಪುಟ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಸ್ವೀಕಾರ ಸಮಾರಂಭ). Allocation of portfolios is expected to follow the oath-taking; the election of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and the Council's presiding officers will take place in the respective Houses as per procedure.
