Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Holds First Review Meeting with Senior Officials

Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda held his first meeting with senior officials to review matters related to the five city corporations, B-SMILE, Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited and other urban governance issues. He stressed the need for greater accountability and efficient administration to address Bengaluru’s growing challenges.

• Krishna Byre Gowda chaired his first high-level review meeting with senior officials.

• Discussions covered the proposed five city corporations, B-SMILE and Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML).

• Additional Chief Secretary of the Urban Development Department Tushar Girinath attended the meeting.

• Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao and Special Commissioners Munish Moudgil, Sushma Godbole, Dr. K. Harish Kumar and Venkata Chalapathi were present.

• BSWML CEO Karigowda and city corporation commissioners Ramesh D.S., Pommala Sunil Kumar, G. Jagadish, Ramesh K.N. and Dr. Rajendra K.V. also participated.

• Additional Commissioners, Joint Commissioners and Chief Engineers were among the officials present.

• The minister said Bengaluru is an asset for the entire country and warned that unresolved civic challenges could affect the state’s future.

• He called on officials to work with greater seriousness and questioned why roads could not be built without recurring potholes.
