The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) will undertake a citywide campaign to plant 1.5 million native saplings on June 27, 2026, as part of the Bengaluru City Rejuvenation Mission 2026–30 and Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Day celebrations.

Key Details:

  • Chief Commissioner [Maheshwar Rao](http://maheshwar rao) called for active public participation in the green initiative.
  • The drive is being organized jointly by BDA, the five City Corporations, government departments and public organizations.
  • Plantation activities will take place across 49 zones and 314 sites covering 243 acres.
  • Locations include Dr. Shivaram Karanth Layout, Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout, Banashankari 6th Stage, lake bunds, stormwater drains and parks.
  • Participants will receive digital certificates and be recognized as “Green Bengaluru Champions.”
  • Metro services will be increased and free buses will connect Metro stations to plantation sites.
  • Food, medical support, toilets, lighting and parking facilities will be provided.
  • A 10K and 5K Kempegowda Day marathon will also be held on June 27 from MAR to Challaghatta Metro Station.
