GBA to Begin Removal and Auction of Abandoned Vehicles from July

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has announced a citywide drive to remove abandoned vehicles from roads, open spaces, and public places across the five city corporations. The enforcement will begin on July 10, 2026, under Section 324 of the GBA Act, 2024.

Key Details:

  • The joint enforcement drive will be carried out by the five city corporations in coordination with the Traffic Police.
  • Vehicles identified as abandoned in public places will receive an official notice sticker and a wheel clamp.
  • Vehicle owners will be given 7 days to remove their vehicles after the notice is issued.
  • If the vehicle is not removed within the notice period, authorities will tow and seize it.
  • All seized vehicles will be disposed of through a public auction in accordance with applicable rules.

Public Advisory

Vehicle owners are advised not to leave their vehicles unattended on roads, open areas, or other public places for extended periods. Those who have abandoned vehicles in such locations should relocate them to private property immediately to avoid seizure and auction.
