GBA Directs GIS Integration of Development Works Across Bengaluru

Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed all departments and agencies operating within the GBA jurisdiction to integrate ongoing and proposed development projects through a common GIS platform to improve coordination and execution of civic works.

Key Details:

• All development works undertaken by city corporations, departments, and agencies within GBA limits will be mapped on a common GIS platform.

• GBA IT officials have been instructed to develop the platform.

• City corporations, BWSSB, BESCOM, KPTCL, BMRCL, K-RIDE and other agencies have been asked to submit their action plans for GIS integration.

• Contractor bills in the five city corporations under GBA will be processed only after project details are updated on the GIS platform.

• Hebbal Junction design is being finalized with pedestrian safety as a priority.

• Officials have been directed to identify and address waterlogging-prone locations before the monsoon.

• Data on lifts installed at pedestrian foot overbridges across the five city corporations will be collected, and non-functional lifts are to be repaired.

• Road repair works at Haralur and Rainbow Residency roads have been ordered to be expedited.

• BWSSB has been asked to submit a report on its ongoing projects.

• The Yelahanka Old Town railway underpass project is targeted for completion by the end of November.

• Measures are to be initiated for relocation of slum residents around Kacharakanahalli and Puttenahalli lake areas.

• Officials have been directed to assess water quality in the K-100 canal and submit a report.

• Junction improvement works under the Suraksha-75 project are to be completed at the earliest.
