GBA Directs Doorstep e-Khata Delivery, Crackdown on Illegal Hoardings

Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda chaired a review meeting with revenue officials of the five GBA city corporations and issued key directions to improve property tax administration, accelerate e-Khata distribution, remove illegal advertisements, and launch a month-long citywide cleanliness campaign. The meeting also focused on waste management, encroachment removal, and stricter enforcement across the GBA area.

Key Details:

• Government to prepare for doorstep delivery of e-Khatas to around 23 lakh properties across GBA.

• Bring all eligible properties into the property tax net to improve tax collection.

• Identify under-assessed properties and revise taxes where required.

• Ensure all properties receive Khatas and strengthen property tax collection.

• Speed up B-Khata to A-Khata conversion across GBA.

• Use GIS, drones and department data to identify unassessed properties.

• Remove all unlicensed digital advertisements without delay.

• Take action against licensed advertisers misusing approvals for commercial purposes.

• Registration and GPS installation to be mandatory for construction debris transport vehicles.

• Launch the “Freedom from Waste” campaign across GBA throughout August.

• Coordinate with civic agencies, K-RIDE, Railways and Metro for the cleanliness drive.

• Prepare a plan to clear 22,732 tonnes of waste identified at 1,616 locations.

• Property owners can clean vacant sites until August 15 without penalty.

• Civic bodies will clean neglected vacant sites after August 15 and recover costs through property tax.

• Over 10,000 encroachments have been cleared; only around 1,500 street vendors require relocation.

• Repeat encroachment on cleared footpaths will attract double penalties.
