GBA Directs Corporations to Finalise Locations for Towed Abandoned Vehicles

Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao directed officials to finalise corporation-wise locations for parking towed abandoned vehicles across the five city corporations under the GBA jurisdiction during a coordination meeting held in Bengaluru on May 26, 2026.

Key Deails:

• A designated parking location for towed vehicles has already been identified in the North Corporation.

• Identification of locations in the Central Corporation and South Corporation is nearing completion.

• Officials were instructed to expedite identification of similar locations in the East Corporation and West Corporation.

Culvert Construction and Infrastructure Works

• GBA instructed NHAI officials to approve the proposed culvert construction near Kendriya Vihar Apartment at Kogilu Junction.

• At Chandapura–Hosur Road, installation of a precast culvert box is underway. BESCOM cable shifting issues are to be resolved jointly by NHAI and BESCOM officials.

Sampigehalli Road Widening Survey

• BDA and North Corporation officials were directed to jointly conduct a survey for the widening of Sampigehalli Main Road near Jakkur Lake and Arkavathi Layout.

• The survey report must be submitted within one week.

White Topping and BWSSB Pipeline Works

BWSSB was instructed to complete pending pipeline works before white-topping road projects begin on:

• Nagawara Road

• Tannery Road

• Lower Agaram Road

• Thimmaiah Road

• Netaji Road

• Sultanpalya Road

• Nagarabhavi Main Road

Fire Department Preparedness

• Officials stated that 20 fire stations are operational across the city.

• City corporations were instructed to maintain coordination with fire stations ahead of the monsoon season and ensure emergency preparedness.

Other Major Issues Discussed

• Initiation of Dinnur Road widening works

• Immediate resolution of sewage overflow issues on Holiday Village Road

• Restoration of roads dug up by BWSSB on Haralur Main Road

• Speeding up the railway underpass work at Yelahanka Old Town

• Completion of BWSSB works on Bannerghatta Road within two days followed by road asphalting by the South Corporation
