Five staff members of a private day-care centre in Bengaluru have been arrested in connection with an alleged case of physical abuse of children. The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) said all necessary legal procedures have been initiated and the investigation is ongoing.

- Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) Chairperson Santosh Kumar stated that all required legal action has been taken in the case.
- The incident pertains to Little Scholar Baby Care Centre, operating within the premises of the private company Capgemini in Bengaluru.
- According to the Commission, the Child Helpline received a complaint on the night of June 25, 2026, alleging physical abuse of children at the day-care centre.
- Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered at HAL Police Station.
- Taking note of reports published in the media and on social media, the KSCPCR registered a suo motu case and directed HAL Police Station and the District Child Protection Officer, Bengaluru East, to submit a detailed report after taking appropriate action.
- A team from the Commission visited the Little Scholar Baby Care Centre and HAL Police Station on July 2, 2026, to assess the situation and collect relevant information.
- The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) also took suo motu cognisance of the matter. Its team visited the day-care centre and HAL Police Station on July 3 and July 4, 2026, to review the progress of the investigation.
- Police have arrested two accused who were employed at the day-care centre and produced them before the competent court.
- The investigation into the case is currently underway.
