FIR Registered After Alleged Assault on BLO Supervisor During SIR Exercise in D.J. Halli
An FIR has been registered after a Booth Level Officer (BLO) Supervisor was allegedly assaulted while supervising the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in D.J. Halli. Police have taken up the investigation.
The Additional District Election Officer, Bengaluru North, and Commissioner, Bengaluru North City Corporation, announced that an FIR has been registered in connection with the alleged assault on Shri Pakeerappa, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) Supervisor, while he was discharging official duties under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
According to the official press release, the incident occurred at around 1:30 pm on July 29, 2026, at Booth No. 129, Ward No. 47, 18th Cross, Modi Road, Roshan Nagar, in the Pulakeshinagar Assembly Constituency.
Individuals reportedly approached the Booth Level Officer requesting an SIR Enumeration Form. As they had shifted their residence, they were advised to approach the concerned office in the Jayanagar Assembly Constituency to obtain Form 6. The release states that an argument followed, during which Shri Pakeerappa intervened and was allegedly assaulted.
Officials stated that Shri Pakeerappa sustained swelling on both sides of his face, injuries to the inner lip, and a head injury. He received medical treatment, and doctors advised a CT scan.
An FIR has been registered at D.J. Halli Police Station against the persons named in the complaint and others for allegedly assaulting the BLO Supervisor and obstructing him from discharging his official duties. Police have taken up the investigation, and further legal action will be initiated in accordance with the law.
The Additional District Election Officer stated that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) will continue in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India. Officials also appealed to the public to cooperate with election staff for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the exercise.
