Deputy Commissioners to Handle e-Khata Corrections Across GBA City Corporations

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has decided to assign responsibility for e-Khata corrections to Deputy Commissioners in the respective city corporations. Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao announced the move during a Revenue Department review meeting, with directions to clear pending complaints and strengthen citizen services.

Key Details:

• Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao chaired a Revenue Department progress review meeting on June 15.

• Responsibility for e-Khata corrections has been shifted from Zonal Joint Commissioners to Deputy Commissioners in the respective zones.

• Officials were directed to conduct a special campaign to dispose of pending correction requests and grievances.

• Complaints relating to khata transfers, owner name corrections and other e-Khata details are to be resolved faster.

• Authorities were instructed to accelerate the e-Khata correction module and distribute corrected e-Khatas promptly.

• A citywide review of e-Khata services and procedures is being undertaken to introduce software improvements and simplify processes.

• Applications for new khatas and B-Khata to A-Khata conversions are to be processed within prescribed timelines.

• Properties currently outside the tax net are to be brought under property taxation across the five city corporations under GBA.

• Property tax collection reached ₹3,000 crore as of June 2026, compared to about ₹2,800 crore during the same period last year.

• Officials were directed to intensify recovery from major tax defaulters and pending revision cases.

• The “My e-Khata My Right” campaign under the Bhoo Guarantee Scheme will be strengthened with increased public awareness efforts.
