Complete Diversion Drain at Halagevaderahalli Lake Within 15 Days: GBA

FECC Special Commissioner Sushama Godbole has directed officials to complete the diversion drain project aimed at preventing sewage from entering Halagevaderahalli Lake within 15 days. Instructions were also issued for lake development works, well rejuvenation, and flood mitigation measures in Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency areas.

Key Details:

• FECC Special Commissioner Sushama Godbole inspected flood-prone areas and Halagevaderahalli Lake.

• Around 60% of the diversion drain construction has been completed.

• Remaining diversion drain works must be completed within 15 days.

• Gravel laying on the lake walkway and pending fencing works were ordered to be completed immediately.

• Officials were directed to coordinate with the Horticulture Department to plant ornamental and fruit-bearing trees around the lake.

• A proposal has been sought for rejuvenation of the old well near Halagevaderahalli Lake.

• Garden development works are to be completed by the first week of July.

• During the inspection near Rajarajeshwari Nagar Arch, officials suggested increasing the retaining wall height along the stormwater drain to reduce flooding risks.

• Waterlogging issues near G.M. Hospital on Nagarabhavi Main Road have been resolved after drain desilting works.

• Drain repair and desilting works near Nayandahalli Petrol Bunk on Mysore Road were ordered to be taken up on priority.
