Chief Commissioner Directs Evening Clearance of Garbage Black Spots During Chamarajpet Inspection

Mechanized Cleaning Plans

• Steps are being initiated to procure mechanized road sweeping machines through CSR initiatives.

• The machines will reduce physical strain on workers currently using manual brooms.

Footpath Cleanliness and Infrastructure

• During inspection beneath the Sirsi Road flyover, waste accumulation near the bus stop was noticed.

• Officials were directed to clean the area immediately and submit before-and-after photographs.

• On Binny Mill Road, drainage desilting and footpath works are underway and officials were instructed to complete them quickly.

• Tree guards are also to be installed around trees on the footpath.

Inspection of Indira Canteen

• The Rayapuram Indira Canteen in Chamarajpet was inspected.

• Officials were instructed to repair a damaged water tap immediately and maintain food quality and cleanliness.

Transfer Station Inspection

• The Chief Commissioner inspected the secondary waste processing unit near Binny Mill.

• Waste from 7 wards of Chamarajpet and 3 wards of Gandhinagar is transported daily through 242 auto tippers, processing around 220 tonnes of waste per day.

• Officials were instructed to set up a Dry Waste Collection Center within the premises.

• Similar facilities should be established in other constituencies, or mini transfer stations where land is unavailable.

Door-to-Door Waste Collection

• Officials were instructed to strengthen door-to-door waste collection through auto tippers.

• Wet and dry waste must be collected separately.

• One ward in Chamarajpet will be selected where link workers will conduct household awareness on waste segregation.

Road Development Update

• White topping work on Tank Bund Road is progressing.

• Total project length: 419 meters.

• 300 meters completed on one side of the road.

• Remaining 119 meters will be concreted soon.

• Officials stated that the entire work will be completed by the end of March.
