The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the successful implementation of the 15 Lakh Native Saplings Initiative, stating that scientific maintenance, transparent monitoring, and community participation will ensure the long-term survival of the plantations.

Key Details:
- BDA has assessed all 279 plantation sites covering 198.31 acres across three layouts.
- Around 82.8% of plantation sites are in normal condition, while the remaining sites are receiving priority maintenance.
- Permanent irrigation systems, including around 40 borewells and sprinkler networks, are being established.
- Dead saplings will be replaced after a one-month scientific evaluation.
- Weekly GPS-based monitoring, drone surveys, and a citizen assistance cell will improve transparency and public participation.
- BDA aims to achieve over 80% sapling survival after three years.
