Appoint Corporation-Wise Nodal Officers for Electoral Roll Awareness Programmes

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has directed the appointment of corporation-wise nodal officers to implement SVEEP programmes related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls–2026. Extensive voter awareness activities will be conducted across all five City Corporations under GBA.



Key Details:
- District Election Officer and Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao chaired a virtual meeting on June 17 regarding SVEEP activities for the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls–2026.
- Corporation-wise nodal officers will be appointed to monitor and implement awareness programmes.
- A separate GBA-level nodal officer will oversee SVEEP activities across all City Corporations.
- Continuous awareness campaigns will be conducted until June 30.
- Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will begin door-to-door visits from June 30 and must carry official identity cards.
- Information on the SIR process will be shared through:
Social media platforms
- Department websites
- Podcasts
- Phone-in programmes
- Print and electronic media
- All India Radio and Doordarshan
- Awareness activities including rallies, marathons, cyclothons and tricycle rallies will be organized across the City Corporations.
- Programmes will also be held in schools, colleges, universities, nursing colleges, clubs and other institutions.
- Special outreach campaigns will target:
Senior citizens
- Persons with disabilities
- Women voters
- Tribal communities
- Migrant populations
- Homeless individuals
- Vulnerable groups
- Service voters and their families
- Officials have been instructed to upload photographs and videos of SVEEP activities on CEOSVEEP.KARNATAKA.GOV.IN
- Authorities will prepare and verify electoral roll entries of prominent personalities including elected representatives, judges, sportspersons, media representatives and award recipients.
