Commissioner Directs Faster Removal of Hazardous Trees and Hanging Branches During Monsoon

The Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) Commissioner has directed officials to expedite the removal of hazardous trees, fallen trees, and dangerously hanging branches across the corporation limits to enhance public safety during the ongoing monsoon season.

Key Details:

• A review meeting was conducted via video conference on June 1, 2026, under the chairmanship of BNCC Commissioner Mr. Pommala Sunil Kumar.

• The Commissioner reviewed:

Fallen tree incidents

• Hazardous and overhanging branches

• Cases already attended to

• Pending tree and branch removal works across BNCC limits

• Officials were instructed to prioritize the removal of trees and branches posing risks due to heavy rain and strong winds.

• The Commissioner directed that all fallen tree debris, branches, and related waste be completely removed and affected areas cleaned after operations.

• Additional response teams have already been deployed to speed up field operations.

• Officials were instructed to recruit additional manpower wherever necessary.

• Immediate procurement and deployment of modern equipment and machinery were also directed to address operational shortages.

• Continuous monitoring and removal of hazardous trees and branches were emphasized to ensure public safety and uninterrupted traffic movement.
