Alert: Police Constable Exam on 2 August — 200-Metre Prohibited Zone Around 149 Bengaluru Exam Centres

The Police Constable (Civil) recruitment examination conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for the Karnataka State Police will be held on Sunday, 2 August 2026 across Bengaluru City district, with the district administration completing all preparations for a transparent and smooth exam, District Collector Kantharaju P.S. has said.

Sessions and Candidates

• Morning session: 10.30 AM – 12.00 noon at 149 centres — 74,942 candidates
• Afternoon session: 4.00 PM – 5.30 PM at 47 centres — 22,369 candidates
• Total: 97,311 candidates

What Candidates Must Know

1. Report 2 hours before the exam start time; entry to the hall is allowed 30 minutes before the exam after dress-code checks.
2. Banned inside centres: study material, personal items, mobile phones, smart watches and other communication or hidden electronic devices, wrist items, food and beverages.
3. Dress code: no full-sleeve clothing; no clothing covering the ears, head or face; no jewellery or metal items except nose pin and mangalsutra; sandals or low-heeled footwear only — shoes are not permitted.
4. Candidates using hearing aids or cochlear implants must report two hours early with their UDID card and medical certificate for verification.

Security Around Centres

A 200-metre radius around every examination centre has been declared a prohibited zone from 7.00 AM on 2 August until the exam ends. Xerox shops around the centres will remain closed, police bandobast is in place, and CCTV cameras and jammers have been installed at all centres. 196 question-paper custodians, 196 squad members, 72 route officers, 196 dress-code officers and 196 observers have been deployed.
